There are a variety of Greenhouse
Gas emissions calculators available online that allow you to determine you and
your family's carbon footprint. The purpose of the calculators is to help you
estimate your greenhouse gas emissions and then discover and compare emissions
reduction options. The resources below are not used for official reporting
purposes however the Energy Information Administration’s Voluntary Reporting of
Greenhouse Gases Program provides a report of greenhouse gas
emissions
Personal Emissions:
The Environmental
Protection Agency’s Personal Emission Calculator allows individuals and
households to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and take action. This calculator lets
you calculate your personal impact at home. Once your carbon impact is
established, the site provides ways to explore actions you and/or your family
can take to lower your emissions while reducing your energy and waste disposal
costs. For each action you choose to take, the calculator displays the amount
of emissions you could avoid and how that amount relates to your total
emissions.
