On December 10, 2007 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(IPCC) recently shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore "for their
efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate
change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to
counteract such change". The IPCC is a scientific body that consists of
hundreds of members from across the globe. The purpose of the panel is to
provide an objective source of information on the causes of global climate
change and potential strategies of how to mitigate the impacts of it. The most
recent IPCC Report was released in February 2007.
